The position involves supporting the Head of Sport in a wide range of sports related activities. Specific responsibility for a major or minor sport may be allotted. On a day to day basis this post reports to the Assistant Head of Sport. This is a term time only position with some out of term activity such as training camps and tours.
Main Responsibilities
The Sports Graduate has the following duties in the support of the department, which are not exhaustive and will be the subject of periodic review:
* Support the Head of Sport/Assistant HoS in all aspects of the delivery of the sports programme, including coaching, monitoring sports clothing and equipment, risk management, events coordination, organising of team kits etc.
* Assist with the general administration of the sports department including using the databases SIMS & SOCS.
* Support the Lead Football Coach and Master In Charge of Football in the delivery of the Soccer programme, including the off-season development and pre-season training.
* Support the Lead Cricket Coach and Master In Charge of Cricket in the delivery of the Cricket programme, including the off-season development and pre-season training. The development programme will include up to 2 evenings a week (term time) during the off-season.
* Ideally head up and run the coaching of a year group in at least one major sport (football and/or cricket).
* Coach other sports as directed by the Head of Sport.
* Support the HoS in delivery of the annual Prep School Tournaments (cricket and football).
* Work with the department to organise compulsory sport .e.g. Yearling Wednesday sport.
* Support the Junior Sports Induction Programme as directed by the HoS.
* Help, support and teach the junior PE programme including, lesson planning and report writing.
* Ensure Health and Safety is paramount in all activities carried out at the school.
Person Specification
Essential
* Suitable coaching qualification in a major sport (football or cricket), coupled with relevant experience.
* Suitable coaching qualification in an alternate sport; or at standard to be able to complete suitable qualification once in post.
Desirable
The position will require basic knowledge of Microsoft products.
* Full UK Driving Licence (minibus ideal).
* Level 2 Coaching Qualification in cricket or football.
* Experience of coaching and playing at a high level.
* Other sports related qualifications and interests including strength and conditioning.

Terms of Service
Start date
The College is looking to make an appointment to start in September 2019. This is a fixed term contract for one year only which may by mutual agreement be extended to two years.
Salary
The starting salary will be the region of GBP 20,000 (gross) per annum depending on experience. Salary levels are reviewed annually on 1 September.
Hours of Work
This is a full time post, Monday to Saturday, during term time only, with the occasional Sunday commitment. During holidays, the postholder will be expected to support planned school trips and camps.
Holidays
The College leave year runs from 1 September to 31 August. This position will be entitled to the statutory holiday requirements. Any Public Bank Holiday occurring during term time is deemed to be a normal working day. All leave must be taken outside of term time.
Pension and Life Cover
After three months' employment, employees will be auto-enrolled into the College's pension scheme according to legislative thresholds. Those who are not eligible for auto-enrolment may still elect to join the College's pension scheme. Initially, when joining the College's pension scheme, employees will become a member of the College's Group Personal Pension Plan (GPP). For this Plan, known as Tier 1, the employee contributes 5% and the employer 3%.
After nine months' membership of the Tier 1 plan employees may opt to join Tier 2, which is also a Group Personal Pension Plan and the contributions are 5% from the employee and a 9% contribution from the College. Employees in Tier 1 automatically qualify for a Life Cover of 2 times salary. On entry to Tier 2 Life Cover changes to 4 times salary.
